Columns for sale

It seems that many people are preoccupied with shopping, merriment and living their lives this holiday season. I’m going to continue to post assignments through the month of December, but they’ll be a little less structured than in the past.

If you’ve got an assignment or thought you want to share, just leave it in the comments and I’ll either make it a full-blown post or will direct people to see it in an upcoming missive.

Keep writing!

I’ve come to look forward to the Jeff Cutler writing exercises as a tool for creative thinking.

I have two ideas – one is to write a “Dear Santa” letter from the voice of a 6 year old in 2007. The short piece can be dramatic or comedic, but must convey the child’s life circumstances in indirect ways.

The other idea is to follow the guidelines on NPR’s Vocal Impressions reader/listener challenge, here: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=16735834

    Anyone interested?
