Many authors – and writers (on a tangential matter, there are many more writers than authors so I felt trapped when I started my sentence with the word authors…won’t happen again) – describe scenes using color for mood.
For today’s assignment, I’d like you to use color in a description. It can be an actual, literal description of an item or you can use your color(s) to paint a scene with mood. Or surprise us with another way to use color in a description.
All we need are a few sentences. Enjoy!
My submission will be in the comment field shortly and that’s where you should share yours.

Had a fever for about four days last week and am just now back on my feet. Sorry for the missed week. Hope you were practicing your editing because this week’s assignment is to take the following sentence and give me three NEW versions of it. Make each version distinct.
The only rule is that you must keep the base words intact. They do not have to remain together, but their meaning cannot be changed.
Here’s the sentence: The man wore a hat to the meeting.
My versions will be up there shortly. Enjoy!
Keep writing.

OK, my assignment is now up. The rest of this post still applies. I don’t have my story yet for this one, but your assignment for today on Jeff Cutler dot com is to come up with a story for this photo. I’ll put mine up soon. Feel free to create a world around this image or just describe in detail the picture. It’s your choice. Have fun with it and Happy New Year.

Also, please let me know if you’d prefer that I put up deadlines with the assignments or if the system we’ve been using is working for you.
Keep writing!
