Steve, first line after the phone and rock photo - "To be clear and fair and upfront, it’s not really Apple’s fault. It’s mine."

I've been trying to be better about blaming and this IS TOTALLY MY FAULT. I have been so enamored of T-Mobile service (and a plan that costs me only $80 per month for UNLIMITED EVERYTHING along with NO CONTRACT that I have begun to believe this should be the norm. Then when AT&T goes back on its stated claim that they were going to keep unlimited plans for the iPad, that drives me insane.

There IS a chance I can get the phone back on T-Mobile, and it works great via Wifi right now. But it is just a heavy iPod Touch at this stage. I'm using the SIM in another phone...an Android model...for all my calls and mobile Web.

Further, I still have a Verizon phone number that I forward to the iPhone/T-Mobile number. I did a review the other day of the HTC Incredible and if I can't get my iPhone back up to speed I might just clear the decks and get an Incredible.

Ari, I have all those other devices but I have become very dependent on accessing data and connecting with people via mobile. I was also out of the house most of the weekend and various events and didn't even have the capacity to connect with people via a phone call, so that's where my frustration really came in. I was hosting a party and folks couldn't even contact me for directions because my phone was dead.

Thanks for the comments!

How exactly did "Apple" brick your iPhone? SOunds clear that you did it to yourself.

Play by the rules nad you won't get burned.

I know you're upset, but don't blame Apple.

The reason they do wht they do is so that their phones just work.

You've suffered the consequences of going outside the lines.

It would be nice if Apple added on Verizon and other carriers, but they don't.

Personally, I was a LONGTIME Verizon customer and switched.

My only issue with them is that many times calls go directly to voice mail and I'm not sure why I don't hear a ring first.

Is there any chance you can un brick your iPhone?

And I thought you owned a computer, or had access to one at the local library. No? Your only connection to the intertubes is through your cellphone?
