Loser
August 26, 2007
Well, this weekend has yet to offer me some winning.
As most of you realize, I have severe space luck.
That means when arriving at the ball park or a restaurant or trailhead or virtually anywhere you might like to park close to an entrance, I get a good space. It works wonders at the beach, Dunkin Donuts, Novel Ideas and even at some of my appointments at Brigham and Women’s.
This weekend was no different, but again I was annoyed that I wasn’t able to convert some of this space luck to other kinds of luck.
For example, I missed placing by one stroke in the club championship. I could have used some luck on holes 14, 18, 1, 5, 6, 15 and 11.
Or some luck on all 18, I guess.
Additionally, I guess I didn’t win the scooter that was being raffled off in Ohio this weekend. I purchased a few tickets for the raffle, but I suppose that since I didn’t get a phone call yesterday at 7:30PM (during Harry Potter’s most recent movie – Welcome Back Potter), then I didn’t win.
And let’s not mention more than once, how completely I didn’t win Powerball or Mega Millions.
In all, the weather was fantastic this weekend and I DID win tickets to the WBOS-quasi-sponsored Deutch Bank Championship next Friday. And I finished a great project for Uno’s. And my work on a few other client projects is ongoing and is keeping my lunchpail full of Asian rice crackers.
So, I guess I’ll see what happens this week. My goals are for the ice cream man to remain outside the building for more than 14 minutes on Thursday. For my conference call with MWA to last only 25 minutes. And for the weather to remain great all week long.
I’ll keep you informed on how it all works out. If you’re lucky.
More to come…
