Scavenger Hunt – Scooter Week 9

Here’s me and my scooter at the beach.

Photos are for Modern Buddy’s ongoing photo scavenger hunt.

Scooter at Nantasket Beach in Hull. You can see the sand and the beach.

Those people are life guards. They said they couldn’t come any closer to pose with Scootle because they had to save lives.

So I left the beach in Hull and went to the beach down the street. AFTER putting on a Hawaiian shirt and getting some inflatable toys and some fish.

This photo was dark, but the following photos are better – including a dupe of this shot that I lightened up.

Lighter. You can see my shirt (sun is setting behind me so that’s why the lighting problem) and you can see the tiny inflatable toys on the seat along with the fish. Photos coming as proof. Along with photos of my tracks IN the sand. 220lbs PLUS my weight made Scootle want to burrow to the bottom of the beach.

Finally, you’ll also see proof that I was at a beach (see the trash can beside me?) – that’s the proof. You’ll understand in a minute.

Here are four inflatable ducks and my camera case and the fish…to be explained in a second.

Here is my fish at the beach. AND the best part is you can play GO FISH with these cards. Maybe I should get dual points for these.

That’s the garbage can. Clearly says BEACH.

And here is my track across the beach and back up. Going down is the far track. Easy to go all the way down and then it got deep and wet. So I turned around and had to paddle with my feet to get back up the beach.

How’s all that?

Here were the point categories and then my total for the week…

3pts for your scooter with a River, Lake, Ocean, Stream, Creek, Canal, Pond, or Swimming Pool
(NO puddles, hoses, buckets, sprinklers, fire hydrants etc)

Bonus Points:

+2pts if there is a fishing pole in the photo (within 10ft of your scooter)
+3pts if there is a fish on the fishing line or on a stringer (also within 10ft of your scooter) Edit 7/27/08: fake fish count but real fish are cooler

+5pts if it is at a beach (must be within 20ft of the sand & we must be able to see the scooter, sand and water in the pic)

+1pt for each (up to 5) person posing with your scooter that is wearing a Hawaiian Shirt
Maximum points for this category is 5!
(Posing means, standing within 10ft of your scooter, looking at your scooter, or the camera, & preferably waving or giving the “hang loose” sign. NOT in the background or walking past, or on the other side of a fence etc.)

+1pt for each (up to 5) person posing with your scooter that is wearing a swimsuit.
Maximum points for this category is 5!
(Posing means, standing within 10ft of your scooter, looking at your scooter, or the camera, & preferably waving or giving the “hang loose” sign. NOT in the background or walking past, or on the other side of a fence etc.)
Note: if someone is wearing a swimsuit AND a Hawaiian shirt, you do NOT get to count them twice.

+1pt for each (up to 5) surfboard EDIT: or Sailboard
(not a raft, not an ironing board, not a boogie board)
Maximum points for this category is 5!

+1pt for each (up to 5) INFLATABLE beach toy / raft / ball that is within 20ft of your scooter
(MUST be an INFLATABLE beach toy & we must be able to clearly see each one in the pic)
Maximum points for this category is 5!

+1pt for the first person to post a qualifying pic this week

That means I get……

+3 Water
+5 Beach
+1 Hawaiian Shirt
+4 Inflatable beach toys
+3 for the fish

YES, I know. The judges will take away the fish. So I get a grand total of 13 this week. So hard and embarrassing to get people to pose in swimwear with your scoot.
