Trains taking over the world, killing people almost daily

June 27, 2008

Here in the Boston area we have had three deaths due to train vs. person collisions in the past three or four days.

I’m not sure what’s causing the trains to start taking human lives, but I do know that part of the problem is that we’ve muted the trains in a PC effort to let people live their lives undisturbed by train whistles or horns.

In fact, right here in Hingham, there are warning signs at each train crossing telling drivers that horns WILL NOT sound. I don’t know whose smart idea that was.

Probably the same idiots who silence their dogs and then complain that they weren’t alerted to burglars. Or the freaks who are buying Prius’ and then running down the blind.

I don’t know why we want everything so quiet. The noises of life are what give us some reference to the season, the weather, our whole life. Birds, rain on the roof, the ice cream man. You get the picture.

So I say shout and bang a drum. Beep the horn. Giggle aloud. Let’s hear some noise!

More to come…
