Urinalpics.com is the one, or is it Urinalpix.com, or maybe it’s Urinalshots.com….hmmm!

About a week ago I was chatting with a friend of mine about creating Web sites that drive traffic and make money. As you know, both Jeff Cutler dot com and Bowl of Cheese dot com bring in a regular income, but nothing approaching that of CNET or Leoville or even Dvorak.org/blog.

You’ll also notice that I didn’t give links to those three sites because they already get enough traffic – OK, Dvorak deserves some press because nobody ever goes there. So let’s talk about urinals.

The talk I had with this friend centered around people’s proclivity for looking at strange things. Not precisely porn, but anything on the fringe draws lots of eyeballs. And the best way to keep getting lots of eyeballs is to have a site that pulls in people who can safely look at your site from their work computer. Therein lies the rub.

If we were to create a BAD urinal site nobody would go to it. So we agreed that I’d do the legwork and find out what urinal domains were available and I’d set up a site where people could submit photos from their work. Camera-phone shots of their toilets at work.

Well la dee dah! Somebody is already doing it. And aside from now owning some nice urinal urls, we’re both out in the cold without a pot to pee in. Maybe we should take some shots ourselves and see what the big deal is about.

But there is a big deal. Boston.com did an article on the site just today and now people are FLOCKING there by the millions. At pennies per hit, that’s about $10 or more. And where are we? Right here twiddling our thumbs.

By the way, I’m still going to see if I can get the site rolling. The domains that will point to it (and these are just sitting at go daddy right now) are urinalshots.com and urinalpics.com and urinalpix.com. Pretty good.

If you’ve got a better idea or want these domains, make me an offer or drop me a line.

More to come…
