CES Autos ‘n’ Apps Meetup Presented by Panasonic Automotive – Party

January 6, 2014

I just sent out a status update with a bit of snark to it. I said that journalists in Las Vegas for CES 2014 are here to work. I attached a photo of some Beefaroni and my laptop in my hotel room. I did that because right now I’m adding photos to galleries, videos to playlists and blog posts to this site in order to justify my existence as a content professional and journalist.

But the snarky comment about all work and no play was ill-advised. MOSTLY because the event I’m going to tonight is actually just a party and not a press conference as I had assumed. The fine folks at Livio and Panasonic have invited me – sans reporting gear – to join them in networking, toasting the new year and chatting CASUALLY about automotive technology.

Whoops!

Blurry photo of the ferris wheel in Las Vegas. Click on this photo for more photos of #CES2014 – and perhaps tomorrow I’ll have some Autos-n-Apps shots loaded.

I think I still might bring my camera with me, but now I am breathing a bit easier because tomorrow at CES 2014 the day starts (for me) at 7AM with a meeting at Intel in the Las Vegas Convention Center. So, I hope I see you tonight…here’s some more info from my gracious hosts on the meetup they’ve coordinated…

The third annual CES Autos ‘n’ Apps Meetup Presented by Panasonic Automotive is for anyone who works in autos, music or apps to catch up while enjoying free drinks and Bond’s awesome atmosphere the night before the 2013 International CES officially kicks off.

Sounds cool, right? Here’s what you need to know:

1. It’s free – Panasonic Automotive is buying your drinks!

Panasonic Automotive is all about a better life and a better world. In Vegas, that means the drinks are on them. Our friends at Elektrobit are bringing some added fun to the celebration, too.

2. Cool people come to this

Last year’s meetup got more than 400 RSVP’s from:

  • Auto OEM’s, Tier 1’s, Software developers and Chipset manufacturers
  • Apps and Content: Internet radio, navigation, traffic and social media
  • Press:  RAIN, Fox News Radio, AOL and Nerdist.com.

3. We’re here to network

Autos ‘n’ Apps is a casual networking event. Attendees register beforehand so we can get a good count and accurate contact information.  During the event everyone gets a name tag, access to the open bar and a high five on their way out.  We try to make it as easy and fun as possible for networking to happen.

4. It’s at Bond Bar in the Cosmopolitan

Cool LED lights, great music and a fun lounge.  We like it.

5. Hosts

Your friends at Livio will once again be your hosts for Autos ‘n’ Apps this year.  We get apps into cars and we’re fun.  If you’re planning to tweet, use hashtag #cesautosnapps
